Special Event Funding Packet 2018

The City of Hemet announced today that the 2018-2019 application period for community event funding will open on March 12, 2018. Community groups and non-profit organizations interested in partnering with the City to deliver events are strongly encouraged to apply. Applications will be accepted from March 12, 2018 to April 5, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. An Ad-Hoc Committee will review applications and make a final recommendation to the City Council for consideration for approval before June 30, 2018 as a part of the fiscal year 2018/2019 City budget process.

In 2012, the City Council established a Special Event Funding Program to support community and special events. The program is managed by the City Manager’s Department. For fiscal year 2018-2019, events proposed to be held in City parks: Weston, Gibbel or Mary Henley, will receive priority for possible funding by the City Council.

This link will provide you with the  2018-2019 Program Guidelines and Application  for both small events (funding from $100 to $999) and large events (funding for $1000 or more).

In 2017, the City awarded over $25,000 in cash and in-kind services to the following local organizations: Ramona Bowl Association, Valley Queens Production, Habitat for Humanity, Soboba Foundation, Central County United Way, Hemet Valley Art Association, NAMI Mt. San Jacinto and West Valley High School.

PLEASE NOTE: This announcement or submission of an application is in no way a commitment of funding or participation by the City. Due to potential City budget constraints in Fiscal Year 2018-2019, there is a possibility the City Council will not award any grants.
