The City of Hemet is pleased to bring you full service Street Sweeping Services. Operating two state of the art mechanical sweepers, residential streets are swept once a month. Business districts and main traffic arteries are swept more often. Because city forces now cover the entire city limits area, spot sweeping and high debris collection areas can be more efficiently maintained than in the past. |

Take advantage of our yard waste recycling collection program. Browse our Recycling site for all the details on this program. By using our convenient curbside collection for yard waste, your yard will stay clean and uncluttered, our street sweepers will be able to keep the streets in your area clean efficiently, and our waste diversion goals will continue to be met. This will also help us to control ever increasing disposal costs, keeping your costs as low as possible. Don't rake or blow leaves and grass into the gutter or streets, use our recycling program instead. |

Avoid parking your car or vehicles on the street if possible during your sweeping day. Spread the word to neighbors too, to give our sweeper operators a clear shot at getting to the curb where the majority of debris collects. We'd like to be able to make one pass down each side of your street and still get the street clean; we don't want to be raising a ruckus with our machinery and disturbing your peace any more than we have to. We do take the time to do the job right, but we need to be able to get to the debris to pick it up. |

Don't run sprinklers or water to excess on sweeping days. Our machinery automatically sprays a measured amount of water to control dust. Too much water in the gutter slows the sweeping process down, makes a mess, and generally reduces efficiency, which increases cost. |
Since sweeping is done as close to the curb as possible, things like mailboxes, overhanging tree branches, basketball hoops, and other items that are likely to be hit by a sweeper cause the operator to swing wide to miss them. When this happens, debris is left on the street and the quality of the sweeping is reduced. Help us to serve you better by correcting or reducing these conditions |

Report abandoned vehicles to the police for tow away. Besides being an eyesore and a safety hazard, they prevent us from keeping your neighborhood streets as clean as possible.
During fall, when leaves are coming down heavily, we may get off our schedule for a week or two while we work to get our average of 1,000 tons of leaves picked up and out of your way. Bear with us during this period, we get back on track quickly. |

On the rare rainy days when it's raining too hard to effectively sweep, we do extra maintenance on storm drains and trim branches out of our way, and otherwise troubleshoot our sweeping routes
There are only six holidays each year which will cause us to be a day behind on our sweeping routes, these are the same holidays that trash and recycling collection is behind by one day. See the recycling brochure for these holidays.
